Adventurous Snowstorm Family Photos

When Leann contacted me she let me know that she and her whole family would only be together and in Utah for a short time and that this date was the only date that would work for everyone to take their family photos. This meant that we had to hope the weather worked for us and that nothing went wrong because we only had one chance to get everyone together! We have been having the driest and warmest winter here in Utah and there was a good chance that we were going to not only end up with very little snow but probably not even any at all, even by the end of December when we were planning the session.

I suggested going to Tibble Fork because it is open and accessible year round, it is far enough up the canyon that snow would be more likely, and if all else failed, there are pine trees so we could avoid empty branches in the backgrounds.

Boy, did mother nature decide to show off for us this day! We were lucky and got some snow just before the session. A lot of it had melted by the time we got up there but we braved the cold and found a patch down my the reservoir that still looked mostly white on the ground. Everyone was incredible brave stood in the chilly air without their coats to get the shots and showcase their gorgeous outfits, there were even open-toed shoes involved! Towards the end of our session is when things really got interesting and an unexpected snowstorm came in! We very quickly went from clear skies to what seemed like a blizzard in a matter of minutes. I'm so glad did even though everyone was so cold they stayed positive and we got some beautiful photos with the snow falling all around them!

This is going to go down as a favorite and a more memorable session! Thank you for trusting me and going on a snowy adventure up the canyon with me! It was so much fun and your photos look amazing!
